Our priority is to work with schools providing them the best and most tailored service possible. Our goal is to ensure we are meeting all of the schools’ needs with regard to Physical Education.
Active Education works with primary school teachers to provide safe, structured Physical Education lessons. We educate students to meet the needs of the national sports curriculum in a controlled school environment. All Physical Education lessons are structured and planned to ensure optimum enjoyment, physical involvement, and maximum knowledge acquisition for each child. Each session will be planned with learning objectives and a breakdown of smaller goals. These session plans can be provided at any point throughout
the academic year. We adapt to the policies of the school, ensuring sessions can be changed to work effectively for the school and its staff.
Active Education wants all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sports and other physically demanding
activities. We like to encourage opportunities to compete in sports and other activities to build character
and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
We use a bronze, silver, and gold method for evaluating pupils’ performance. This standardised scale identifies pupils who require improvement, are at an expected level, or are outperforming expectations. This enables us to accurately fill out our Pupil Trackers and end-of-year reports. ‘Pupil Trackers’ will be created for each class at the end of every half term entailing the individual performance of the pupils.
These can be reviewed and explained upon request from the school. We also provide yearly detailed reports on each child to assist with the reporting system of the school. The reports will consist of progress on aspects of development including motor skills, communication, teamwork, and behaviour.
We also offer a training program for teachers over the course of one academic year. During this, we will educate staff on how to effectively deliver engaging and exciting PE lessons for pupils. The aim of the course is that upon conclusion, staff will feel confident delivering high-quality sessions from all areas of the syllabus and have the resources required to do so.
There will be observation forms for staff to fill out as they spectate each lesson with the target of delivering a session for that sport/topic in the final week of the half term. We can then assess the PE lesson they take and offer constructive feedback on how they can improve.
Active Education will provide lunchtime clubs that are structured to the lunch period at the school. We provide a safe and effective learning environment whilst using the lunchtime philosophy of ‘play’. The lunchtime club will ensure that all participants develop skills in sport to ensure ongoing progression.
Active Education is a reliable, affordable, and suitable option for the modern-day family, with many parents having hectic work obligations. The After School Clubs provide a caring environment for children and also emphasize the enjoyable side of sport and the development of key skills in each sport.
Active Education is able to guide, support, or organise school sports days at the end of the year. Our qualified coaches will support the event by setting up, running, and results-tracking the day’s activities. Sports Day Support will form part of the PPA package offered by Active Education as an added incentive.
Our holiday sports sessions are designed to be fun and energetic for young people between 4 and 12 years of age. We provide a variety of sports, opportunities, and chances to let off some steam. We also encourage and promote friendships and create lasting memories for young people. These sessions can be held at and organised in cooperation with schools to provide further extra-curricular activities to their pupils.
Raise money for your school through Active Education. Whether you need money to buy new equipment, fund new clubs, trips or provide any other opportunity for young people, Active Education can help. We can deliver many different sporting fundraisers, including football, dance, cricket, golf, speed stacking and many more. We provide all the forms and also the prizes.
Active Education provides healthy living and nutrition sessions to young people. Our workshops help children to understand about what a healthy diet is, how to live a healthy lifestyle, and the importance of doing so. We deliver all these sessions through fun, energetic and engaging lessons, whilst making them educational for the group. We can also deliver CPD to teachers and instructors to help up-skill them and enable them to deliver sessions themselves.
Alongside PE and extra-curricular activities, we also organise inter-school sports tournaments in different areas of Norfolk in an array of sports included in the curriculum.
We seek to run these tournaments on a seasonal basis, in conjunction with the sports that are likely being delivered in PE at that time, meaning children get the opportunity to take part in competitive sport and showcase the skills they learn in school.
Children have the opportunity to win medals and ultimately a trophy should they be successful in these tournaments, creating memories for life. Inter-school tournaments are also an effective way of networking with other schools in the locality. We also like to offer schools the opportunity to host these tournaments should they have the facilities to do so, meaning they’re able to enter a team free of charge and avoid travel entirely. We provide all risk assessments prior to the event as well as produce an itinerary, with information and rules included so visiting staff know exactly how the event will run.
Photos of the event will be taken and sent to schools following its conclusion, ensuring only children with photo permission are included.
We produce a full timetable of events at the beginning of every academic year to distribute to schools in the area to enable them to book on in plenty of time.
